Hi, I am having this problem that seems fairly common, but all the solutions I've seen haven't been working for me or aren't available for some reason. I use Windows 10.

Whenever I try to connect it via USB, it isn't recognized as a controller. When troubleshooting on that Devices and Printers window, it appears like the device wasn't able to connect to the USB 3.0 port and can only be connected to USB 2.0 ports. According to the other questions about the same matter I've seen here, apparently that's not supposed to happen and it's an error on the installation of the device. I hope that's true, since my laptop seems to only contain USB 3.0 ports.

Yes, I have tried uninstalling the device then restarting the system. Yes, I have tried updating my Windows. Didn't work.

Xbox 360 Controller Wired Adapter

• My laptop has 3 USB ports. Two appear as USB 3.0, one appears as USB Composite Device
• In two of those ports, the small light on the part of the wire that connects to the controller appears as green, but the light around the Xbox button keeps going on and out (I don't quite remember what that means, but it's not connected)
• In the other one, the small light turns red. The light around the button does the as if not connected.
• Steam does not detect any controller. The system tab where controllers appear also does not show any.
